Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Licensed Psychologist to join a mental health team within a correctional facility. The successful candidate will conduct psychological screenings and assessments, provide treatment, and collaborate with other clinical staff to ensure integrated patient care. This role is crucial in addressing the mental health needs of inmates and requires a professional who is passionate about providing high-quality care in an institutional setting.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Conduct psychological screenings and assessments based on available records and clinical interviews with inmates.
  • Collaborate with clinical staff to gather and provide information concerning patient psychological problems.
  • Develop, implement, and modify individual treatment plans based on evaluation of needs and level of functioning.
  • Make regular rounds in segregation or other confined housing areas to assess inmate adjustment and mental health treatment needs.
  • Provide appropriate mental health assessments, counseling, and interventions to address the needs of inmates in crisis.
  • Consult with various staff to understand the reasons for escalation of problem behaviors and changes in mental health condition of inmates.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required

  • Thorough knowledge of psychological counseling theory and techniques.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to perform duties at a pace and level consistent with job performance requirements.

Education / Professional Experience

  • Graduate from an accredited college or university with a Doctoral degree in Psychology.
  • Two years of clinical experience, including one year in a comparable position.

Licenses / Certifications

  • Current, unrestricted license to practice psychology in the state of Oklahoma or ability to acquire this licensure.
  • Valid driver's license.

  • Clinical experience as a School Psychologist is not accepted.
