Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Clinical Pharmacist to join the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at a leading children's hospital in Houston. This role is critical in delivering specialized pharmaceutical care to critically ill pediatric patients in an acute care setting. The ideal candidate will have completed a PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency and possess a strong working knowledge of pediatric pharmacotherapy and critical care protocols.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Develop, implement, and monitor clinical pharmacy programs to improve patient care and decrease costs.
  • Provide clinical services to patients and professional staff.
  • Interact with medical staff on drug utilization and cost containment.
  • Assist in supervising the activities of department employees in consultation with the department Director and/or Pharmacy Manager.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities Required

  • Ability to promote teamwork and build effective relationships.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of pharmacy and hospital computer systems.
  • Familiarity with health care reimbursement environment.
  • PGY2 Pediatric Pharmacy Residency Training required

Education / Professional Experience

  • Doctorate of Pharmacy degree.
  • Completion of ASHP accredited pharmacy practice residency or fellowship preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical pharmacist experience in a PICU or similar pediatric acute care environment.

Licenses / Certifications

  • Active Pharmacist license in the state of Texas (or eligible for licensure).
  • Pharmacy Sterile Product certification through an accredited program.
